The Basics Still Work
I truly think sometimes we make fitness way more complicated than it needs to be.
Every day on Instagram, you see a new exercise, a new workout, a new technique, or some crazy, flashy movement that you've probably never seen before. Because it looks different, we can easily assume it must be better or more effective. But honestly, that's not always the case.
The basics still work. They always have and they will continue to work .
Squats, deadlifts, lunges, push-ups, pull-ups, rows, presses, walking, running, eating enough protein, managing your nutrition, getting stronger, and being consistent. Key
word :CONSISTENT. None of these things are new, and that's exactly the point. They have worked for years, and they still work today.

There's nothing wrong with trying new exercises or adding variety to your workouts. I do it too. But sometimes we get so focused on finding the next new thing that we forget to master the things that actually matter.
Before you start looking for some advanced exercise you saw on Instagram, ask yourself: Have I actually mastered the basics? Can you squat with good form? Can you do a proper push-up? Can you perform a good row? Are you getting stronger? Are you moving better? Are you consistent with your workouts and your nutrition?
Because doing the basics consistently will take you a lot further than constantly jumping from one workout or exercise to another.
And here's something I've learned over the years: what works isn't always exciting.
Doing the same basic movements over and over might not make for the most exciting Instagram Reel. It might not get thousands of likes. But if you're getting stronger, improving your form, adding reps or weight, and seeing changes in your body, then who cares how many likes it gets?
Your workout isn't supposed to impress Instagram. It's supposed to get you results.
Social media has made us think that everything needs to be flashy or complicated. But sometimes a basic squat performed well is more valuable than the most complicated exercise you've ever seen. Sometimes walking every day is more important than some crazy cardio workout. Sometimes eating better consistently is more important than finding the perfect supplement.
I've been in the fitness industry for more than twenty years, and one thing I can tell you is that the fundamentals haven't changed. Our bodies still respond to proper training, progressive overload, good nutrition, recovery, and consistency.
The basics worked before Instagram. They worked before TikTok. They work today, and they're going to keep working.
So don't overlook the simple things just because they aren't flashy. Master them. Get really good at them. Progress them. Be patient and, most importantly, stay consistent.
You don't need the newest exercise. You don't need the flashiest workout. You don't need to go viral.
You just need to do the things that work and keep doing them.
The basics still work. They always have, and they always will.
